Playdate Idea: Christmas Cookie Decorating
December 15, 2015 0 By EngineerMommyThe other week, we had a few of my kid’s classmates over at our house for a play date. I’m always looking for fun, easy ways to keep the kids entertained during play dates. Since it’s too cold to go outdoors and play in the yard, I knew I needed to keep them happy & entertained in the house. We often do an arts & crafts activity, but I wanted to change it up a bit for this play date. So I decided a Christmas Cookie Decorating Play Date would be a perfectly festive thing to keep the kids totally engaged! And it was a big hit!
Playdate Idea: Christmas Cookie Decorating
So I gathered a bunch of different cookies. I used these ring shaped cookies, because they make cute wreaths! I also added some ice cream cones, because with some green frosting, they can look like Christmas trees. And I also included a few more random cookies!
I bought a bunch of different frostings & icings from the store, but of course, you could make your own. I collected various sprinkles, candies and toppings and placed them inside little glass cups to keep everything easy to access for the kids!
And here are some of the finished cookies the kids put together. I helped out with some of the cookies and let the kids go to town on some all on their own!
Needless to say, the kids had an absolute blast with this project! They really enjoyed themselves and really decked out their cookies in a ton of frosting, icing and sprinkles! They had fun decorating the cookies and then eating a few, too!
