Glamorous Dollar Store Pumpkin {Halloween craft}
September 25, 2015Want to make some fun pumpkin crafts for Halloween?! During one of my recent trips to the dollar store, I picked up 3 craft pumpkins and I will be sharing three different (possibly more!) ways to spruce up a dollar store pumpkin! They don’t have to be stark orange, plastic-y pumpkins forever! They can be glamorous white pumpkins featuring a gold spiderweb and black spiders!! Like today’s little project! This one was so simple to put together and only cost me the pumpkin itself- which was $1! I love a bargain craft project!
Glamorous Dollar Store Pumpkin {Halloween craft}
If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember I posted a shot of the three orange pumpkins I picked up from the dollar store!!
In addition to the pumpkins themselves, here are the other supplies I used:
Supplies:
white spray paint
gold thumb tacks
black spiders
hot glue
Directions:
1. Spray paint the pumpkins white.
2. Use the thumb tacks to “draw” spiderwebs on the pumpkins.
3. Adhere a few spiders to the pumpkins with hot glue!
Voila! Done!
Such an easy way to spruce up a dollar store pumpkin! And make it more glamorous!
Because (almost) everything looks a little better with gold thumbtacks!! 🙂
And don’t forget to stay tuned to see what I did with those two other pumpkins!!

Such a great idea. I need to head to the dollar store . My son would love doing a project like this together .
Yes,you should definitely try one like this, Shann! It’s so simple and fun!
The Dollar Store is such a great resource for crafting. There are so many small items and if you have a mind for re-purposing items then it can definitely be a treasure trove of finds for you! And at such low prices you can take a chance on some items you aren’t quite sure how you might use!
Totally agree! Dollar stores are wonderful for craft supplies!
I love how these pumpkins turned out! I love finding goodies at the dollar stores they can be so much fun to dress up and change. I really like how well the spiders pop on your pumpkin with the white pumpkin.
Thanks Tammilee!
What a cool, glamorous looking pumpkin craft for the Halloween holiday. I have never done anything like this before, and would be worth trying. Thanks for the idea!
Of course, Maria!
I love this pumpkin idea – it puts a unique spin on an old classic 😀
Thanks so much for the tutorial. The dollar store is quite a resource! I love your finished pumpkins.
How cool to be able to change a $1 pumpkin into something that fits your style. Plus, if you fail it was only a dollar! I can’t wait to visit my local Dollar store so make some fun crafts for Halloween/Fall! So much fun
Exactly! With dollar store crafts, there’s almost nothing to lose!
I wish I was crafty because these ideas are great! I just don’t have the patience to do projects and I feel like they always turn out horribly. I never would’ve thought to use tacks to make a spiderweb, such creativity.
Thanks, Holly!
I love the pumpkins! The Dollar Store is my go to store for my arts and craft projects. They have a wide selection of items for any kind of DIY project you can think of. And yes, the prices are unbelievably low.
You had me at dollar store! I love what you did with that little pumpkin and I love the little sparkle from the thumb tacks. This was a very creative and pretty idea and I really can’t wait to see what you did with the others.
Love the dollar store! Thanks for stopping by, Maria!
Oh gosh…this is such a neat idea!
