Setting up a Kid’s Homework Station

Now that the school year is in full swing, setting up a little homework station is an easy way to encourage good habits. It doesn’t take a whole lot of supplies or a ton of time to set up the kids for success. Here are the essentials for a DIY Kid’s Homework Station.

  1. Desk: What homework station is complete without a dedicated surface to write out problems? Ideally a child will have a desk just for homework, but if that’s not possible, the dining room table or breakfast bar could work too. Check out these cute desks perfect for kids:
  2. Computer: Even my 2nd grader needed access to a Chromebook. Kids nowadays start using computers for schoolwork very early on, so make sure there’s an available machine for the child. An iPad might even suffice in some cases.
  3. Stationery: This is where all the pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils, scissors, tape, glue, etc. come in. Make sure you have a way to keep all these various items neat and tidy. This stationery set might not have everything on your child’s school supplies list, but it’s an adorable start.
