My days are usually pretty busy. Between shuttling the kids to and from after-school activities and taking care of miscellaneous errands around town, I really look forward to spending time on pampering myself in the evenings. The weather is warm and open-toe shoes are everywhere. Make sure your feet are ready for all that exposure. Keep the skin on your feet soft and smooth by taking a few extra minutes in the evening to moisturize them. Slather your favorite cream all over your feet and ankles. Slip on a pair of cozy, fuzzy socks and snooze the night away. When you awake in the morning, slip off the socks and admire your baby-soft skin!

Bonus Tip: For even softer skin, exfoliate your feet in the shower beforehand. Simply mix equal parts of white sugar and olive oil for an effective homemade scrub.

3. Smooth hair!
Between the UV rays, chlorine in the pool, styling products and the blow-dryer, our hair takes quite a beating during the warmer months. 4. Heat-free curls!

I am always trying to minimize the amount of heat I apply to my hair. It’s a known fact that using the blow-dryer, curling iron, or straightening iron every day is sure to create hair damage, so I try to limit my use of these tools when possible. Sometimes I will put my hair in braids in the evening and sleep with the braids in my hair. In the morning, I simply unravel the braids and have beautiful, loose waves. It’s a simple step that takes just minutes in the evening, and then my hair looks great the next day.

Bonus Tip: For tighter curls, braid multiple smaller sections of the hair. For looser curls, braid one larger section of hair.

5. Moist air!
Did you know that dry air can contribute to dry skin and dry hair? Get a humidifier and run it during the night in your room. It’s a quick, easy tip that can make a big difference in the long run. I love this humidifier because it has a big tank and lets me direct the stream of moist air.

  1. These are some great beauty hacks. I often slather my feet with lotion and sleep in socks in order for my feet to look good in my favorite flip flops. I need to try the hair mask.

  2. I always moisturize my tootsies at night. My husband’s feet are gross, so I have been asking him to do it with me for years!

  3. Keeping my feet soft during the summer sandal months is something I have to do every night. The hair mask is something I have not tried out but would like to see how it works.

  4. Coconut oil can do WONDERS for your hair and skin. My hair gets dry and frizzy at the ends, too. You should try argan oil, too. It’s a little pricey but worth it!

  5. Great ideas! I need to try a hair mask! Especially in the summer with all the extra swimming and sun.
