June 25, 2016Some people believe that potty training must take place in the house- that it’s impossible to successfully potty train a toddler while on-the-go. I’m here to tell you that with the right tools & products, it’s totally possible to potty train on-the-go. I successfully potty trained two children, and we weren’t at home all day. Instead, we spent a lot of time out and about, and I’m excited to share with you some tips to successfully potty training your toddler on-the-go. 1. Know the bathroom locations:
Whenever you get to a new destination (mall, park, etc.), make sure you know the location of the nearest restroom. When nature calls for your potty training toddler, you want to be able to quickly whisk her away to the restroom.

It’s definitely a routine in our house- the kids must go to the potty before we leave!
4. Bring a change of clothing:
Potty training can be a messy experience. Accidents happen! Bring along a change of clothing so you’re prepared in case baby soils her outfit! I actually brought along a change of clothing for my toddler for a few months after she was potty trained – just in case! It’s always best to be over-prepared.

This is great! My 2 year old is doing it at his own pace, and we often to go out a lot! He is pretty good at it though, he just follows his older siblings!

I think the epitome of potty training on-the-go is on an international flight! I had to do it with both of my kids! It was a bit stressful but needless to say we got through it, lol!
These are excellent tips and suggestions. I also suggest reminding them to go potty. This helps them especially if your doing fun activities. Often times, they get so focused on what they are doing and ignore the potty signals.

Leaving the house while potty training is a difficult task for both mom and toddler. These are some great tips! I always try to tell my friends who are potty training to be understanding and OKAY with accidents! Public toilets are very big and loud, meaning they are often very scary to toddlers.
