So who here likes McDonald’s Sweet Tea?! I sure love it!

I am a huge fan of the sweet tea. It’s not just that it’s super sweet, but it’s also super smooth! It’s perfectly clear and not at all bitter! It truly is iced tea perfection! However, if you want to enjoy a homemade version of sweet tea, you don’t have to settle for a ho-hum iced tea that’s bitter and uninspired. I have the SECRET INGREDIENT that will take your iced tea adventures to the next level!

Ingredients:

  •  1 pinch baking soda (secret ingredient!)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 3 tea bags
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 3 cups cold water

Directions:

  1. Start by sprinkling a pinch of baking soda into your pitcher.
  2. Add the tea bags and pour in the boiling water.
  3. Steep for 20 minutes.
  4. Discard the tea bags.
  5. Stir the sugar until it’s dissolved. Add the cold water.
  6. Refrigerate the beverage until chilled.

This recipe is a definite keeper at our house. It’s an easy way to enjoy some nice, ice-cold tea during the hot Summer months! I usually have a pitcher of it in the fridge at all times. I also LOVE that it can easily be customized to your tastes. Like it sweeter? Add more sugar (or honey)! Like it stronger? Add more tea bags or steep it longer! Easy peasy!
