Save room on clothing storage with space bags

July 26, 2012 0 By EngineerMommy

My daughter has accumulated a ton of clothing during her first year. Onesies, shirts, dresses, pants, shoes, sneakers, caps, pajamas, etc. Many of these items are in pretty good condition and I could not bring myself to throw them away. If we have another girl in the future, I doubt we’d need to buy much clothing for her (at least for the first year).

There is just so many clothing items that if I just fold them and put them in plastic boxes, the amount of clothing far exceeds the amount of space we have for the clothing. So I thought I would try out these Space Bags I found at Walmart. You could use your regular vacuum hose and attach it to the bag valve to suck out all the air. You fill the bag with clothing, seal it with a sliding zip-loc mechanism and then attach the vacuum to remove all the air.

I love how much space these bags save, and I will definitely be buying more of these in the future.

Here is what the bag looked like before the vacuum.

And here is what the bag looked like after all the air was sucked out.
